Kurudu kanchana.... Blind gold...

Today I listened to one of the most touching songs written by one of most scholarly and distinguished poets the world has ever seen. This has been my favorite song since my school days when this poem/song was a part of syllabus of my 1st language subject, Kannada. The poet is Dattatreya Ramachandra Bendre popularly known as Da. Ra. Bendre. He is a poet of distinct character in whose life friends were everything and just everything. He had to spend a miserable life as he neither desired to make money nor went behind it. There are many heart touching stories about his life because of his poor economic condition. Once when his son was ill he could not manage to get medicines, such was his situation. Its irony that such a great poet had such a difficult living.

Even with all these problems and may be inspired by many such problems and contemporary situations Bendre has written some classic songs which inspires many even today. His rejection towards exploitation by the upper class and the rich is evident abundantly in his works. Many Bhava Geethes are just very relevant in today’s scenario where the rich suck the blood of poor and lead a lofty lifestyle.

Kurudu Kanchana Kuniyutalittu.. Kaalige biddavara tuliyutalittu… is that song which reminds me of the exploitation and suppression of the poverished class. Each word in the song is by itself self explanatory and depicts the crude and cruel image of the people with money power. The sight of the evil money power as described in the poem just frightens me. The way the working class people are hunted is very saddening. The evil of the devil will be wearing anklets made out of tender bones of a mother who has just given birth to a baby, chain made of eye balls of poor small children and many more….

If that was the situation then, we live in no better society now. If the song explains of the then prevalent exploitation, its same now, it is relevant today as well. We are living in a society where the privileges I get depends on my caste, religion, property I own, richness I have and the bureaucrat or the politician whom I know or support. Where girls especially those from poor background are raped inhumanly and killed by rich insane anti social elements and if the victim survives they are threatened and victimized for being a victim. Even after all these allegations and convictions, the rich will be roaming happily and without any sense of wrongdoing or even guilt for committing such a heinous act. This is just one of many such incidents that are happening today.

Are we not ashamed to live in such a society?? Or have we lost all our values and become numb not to feel anything from this?? No we cannot be like that..

We need a better place to live, a better country to feel proud of…We need a change in our mindset.
I can change and will change… Can u??

They are Revolutionaries, not Terrorists!!!

March 23rd 1931, the day which can never be forgotten by any INDIAN, the day on which the ideas, ideals, new thought process, dreams and desires which were revolutionary and pro poor were brutally hanged by branding those as Extremist or terrorist ideas which created malaise in the society. Yes, I am referring to the brutal hanging of the legends who fought for the cause of FREEDOM to free Mother India from the shackles of British rule. Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar who embraced  death valiantly were executed illegally flaunting the rules and demonstrating  the barbaric rule of that time. the trial was  not conducted in a fair manner and it was pretty clear that British feared these young freedom fighters with revolutionary ideas and it seemed that they wanted to crush them with their IRON FIST, of course with the help of so called INDIANS. Its sad that even Gandhi didn't want to save these young heroes. I want to address them as HEROES WITH REVOLUTIONARY IDEAS which were pro people, pro poor, pro working class and ultimately and importantly PRO INDIA rather than mere revolutionaries. Its shame to call them or brand them as terrorists which many people and historians did and are doing who just know the half truth or no truth or not interested to know about their core ideologies

Bhagat Singh never wanted war, never embraced violence. He said: "It is famous that I am a terrorist but I am not that. I am a revolutionary who has certain ideology, defined ideals and a long programme and if people think that after living in for a long period in the jail, there is any change in my ideologies then they are wrong. It is my firm belief that we cannot get any benefit from either bombs or pistols. Throwing bomb is not only dangerous but also harmful. It is required in certain specific conditions. Our main aim is the organization of laborers and farmers." In many of his writings its very clear that the intention to throw bomb was to awaken the sleeping giant who was just interested to suck Indian's blood and exploit the poor.

On 6th June 1929 Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt said in a statement,      'To change the system based on injustice, we need revolution. Is it not a constructed injustice that the labors and producers, despite being the part of mainstream, are victim of exploitation and have been denied basic human rights? Farmers, who produces die of hunger. The weaver who weaves cloths for others cannot do so for his own family and children. Meson, Carpenters, Iron smiths build huge palaces die living in huts and slums. On the other side, capitalist exploiters, anti social elements, spend crores of rupees on their fashion and enjoyment. Those who enjoy at the cost of hardworking and hungry people should understand that they are sitting on such a volcano which is about to erupt.' Its irony and painful to know that Indians required a bomb to awaken the ruling or to be specific EXPLOITING ELITE. For everyone who is ignorant about these noble ideas of Bhagat Singh my sincere request is please read this great hero, read him with love towards nation, read him with a pure heart. These are just a few ideas about these people, I am afraid it runs into pages and pages if I keep on writing.

Bhagat Singh emphasized that ‘for  revolution the struggle against the external forces like imperialist - capitalists and colonialists as well as against the internal forces like the Indian capitalists, feudal landlords, moneylenders and traders was essential'. Don't you think this great legend is still relevant today? Yes, He is. In today's India where 10% Elite class enjoys at the cost of 90% working and toiling Indians, Bhagat Singh and his ideas are and will be very relevant. India needs a hero, a hero in every Indian, heroism in every action to wipe out the tears of the down trodden.

Lets remember and cherish the sacrifice of these great heroes and preserve and protect our freedom, our democracy, our Unity and our values.

Be a Hero, be a true Indian.

One small change..

We need a change.. Not a change in the world.. A change in yourself!

We all think about changing something in the world. But no one does think about changing themselves. Some great person said "The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking".
Yes... We all need to change our mindset and attitude about each and everything we are expecting to change in this world.

Let's start with an example of a small family: Mom, Dad and an 8-year old kid.. Dad is too grumpy, shouting all the time, finding mistakes in each and everything. Mom is very silent, doesn't talk much, does her work as a "duty". The kid doesn't like to be at home because of this attitude of his parents. He doesn't want to talk to his parents too. He has turned an introvert already.
One Morning: Mom prepares breakfast, lunch for everyone. Dad is shouting that the breakfast is not good. The kid is getting ready to school. He needs some money for his drawing competition and he asks his dad. His dad shouts at him saying, "Study properly, no need of drawing, you are not going to become a painter in life". The kid is disappointed. Now mom gets tea and by mistake she drops it on dad's shirt. Oh my god! What just happened!! The "always shouting" dad just got up, changed the shirt and went to office. And now, mom and the kid are left scandalized. They were expecting a war at home in this situation. But, dad did not even speak a single word. And what's going in dad's mind now. He himself is surprised by his reaction. He is thinking, "why didn't I shout?", "it was not purposefully dropped on my shirt", "how calm was the house when I stopped shouting?", "what might be my wife feeling now?", "what might my kid be thinking?". He calls up home (which he normally never did) and talks to mom. Mom has another surprise today! She says "Sorry" for dropping the tea and starts happily talking about what she did the whole day. Dad just feels the change in him and what difference his change has made. He comes in the evening and sees the kid happily waiting for him holding a drawing of his family, of course with a smile on his dad's face(all these days his drawings had a grumpy-faced dad)

This is just a small situation where just a small reaction changed the whole day of three lives. So now let's think, Is it so difficult to change? No, not at all.. Give a small change in your life everyday, in every action you do, every word you speak, every smile you give.

Of course, you are living for yourself, you need not change for anyone. But just think, the whole world is not "just you". There are so many people around you who love you. Bring a small change in your life for those loved ones and just feel the happiness in you. If you are happy, you can achieve what you want.

To bring a change in our country, think what you can change in yourself. Give a little thought. To change a country like India, one doesn't need intelligence or courage. He just needs patience and perseverance. Perseverance to make the change happen and patience to wait for it.

Life as I see it

Writing a blog was a recent desire or an intention (to serve what God knows!!). The first blog alike first words describe a person's perspective. Sharing your perspective is the justice perception expects from you. The first perspective that comes alive with any sensible experience is of life!

I feel at last Life boils down to four elements which are already within us:

Love - Share it for your own satisfaction

Success follows a display of mental strength under unusual and unexpected circumstances. Love is the entity that nourishes this strength.

Vedas - Share it to guide others.

Vedas live within us more than in books. Books sound like illusion when you can read the Vedas inscribed in your mind. It automatically chooses your thoughts such that the word 'words' when its source is your mind evolves into a verb.

Fire - (of hunger, lust, anger, selfishness, possessiveness etc) use it to bring peace

These are the things that makes us burn within and we keep burning every minute we breathe them in. You can use this fire to turn things into ash or you can become a fire that guides the entire world towards peace.

Knowledge - Use it for your own benefit.

Knowledge is just a state of mind. You can flood your life with happiness if you know how to stay in this state.

Life is more valuable than heaven - a path function. The way we march towards our destiny is more important than the destiny itself. Emotions, Karma, Revenge - classified under illusion category. The journey lies above all of these.

'The achieved' title is not actually an asset though the trials are possible actions. Simple thoughts become ink and writes much higher reality which seldom is a characteristic of its source just like the mind which governs me which believes that the way I see needlessly be the way I am but should be the way I want to be.

Does CBI really mean Central Bureau of Investigation anymore??!!!!

Central Bureau of Investigation, India's premier investigation agency was instituted (let me not mention date as it is irrelevant to this discussion) to deal with high level/ high profile cases and cases with serious offenses and implications. The main purpose behind this is to decouple political interference as we all know how police department in India is controlled by vested interests. Its a really great commendable idea to start an agency which can deliver less distorted reports and conduct fair investigation.

But are these goals really achieved? Or if not so early, is it going in a direction to achieve these goals??? Innumerable incidents on recent as well as past just prove the contrary. CBI is just going in a direction which was probably not even envisaged when it was instituted. It has become a strong weapon in the hands of ruling party to control and victimize their political opponents. To mention a few cases- Jaganmohan Reddy, son of great Rajashekar Reddy, Ex CM Andhra Pradesh, who was one of the closest persons to Sonia Gandhi was arrested by CBI after he left INC and started his own party. Why was he not questioned when he was in INC? How come he becomes corrupt as soon as he quits INC?? Cases against great Lalu Prasad, Mulayam Singh, Mayavati will be dormant as long as they support INC. What happened to Mine baron Janardhana Reddy case? As soon as Sriramulu quit BJP and start new party against BJP, case become weak and slow. Till then CBI would be very aggressive, we will be wondering atleast one person will be punished!! What happened to Stalin now? Why black money slashed in overseas banks are not investigated and why the names of account holders are not revealed? These are just few cases to mention, probably I need to write hours together to name all cases.

Why is the most powerful investigation agency in India is used in such a bad manner and used a political weapon to tame the opponents? Are there no persons with integrity who occupy those positions or are they made silent by transferring to dummy positions? Does the government think that we, the people are really dumb that we don't understand all these? India is the biggest DEMOCRACY, why is it turned into MOBOCRACY? There is serious ANARCHY within CBI and if this continues the agency will become a threat to the nation (its already in the process).  Why have we become so numb that very few of us protest against such wrongdoings?

One of the most beautifully and carefully scripted part of any book which we can read is the PREAMBLE. India and Indians need justice, Liberty and equality. Why the political class is no shameless and forgetting the PREABBLE of our constitution? Please don't make those words and sentences and the efforts put by lakhs of freedom fighters and nationalists to achieve independence and frame our constitution meaningless. Please save the beautiful gift of DEMOCRACY to our future generations.

Dream on...

What is a dream??? Is it something u do in your sleep?? No... it is something you aspire to do if possible. Dreamers are of many types to name a few, some people dream about their future life, money, wife etc. Some dream about their career and dream about reaching the pinnacle of success. And then there are ones who dream about doing something to the mankind, making their lives easier, more efficient, doing something to the society, giving something back to the nature, in a way thanking nature for all its given..It is because of one’s guy dream that we are using the iPod, facebook and what not!! Our lives have been changed and made easy because one guy dreamt selflessly without thinking about his own life and dreamt for the betterment of the society and mankind. Dreaming to change something and making it better is a trait to be admired and not a lot of people can do. If u dream without thinking about the end result, who knows one day your dream can change the world. As Walt Disney says, all dreams can come true, If u have the courage to pursue them...

What i am trying to tell here is, in a way i am motivating myself and appealing everyone to dream, dream to make people’s lives easier. Dream to give back something to mankind. Dream fearlessly. At first one may call you a daydreamer or whatever but your dream change the world.. Who knows maybe one day your dream can change the lives of a billion people!!

Dream on..
Good Luck..

Have Patience, Please...

In today's busy world this Patience has become a rare commodity!!

All of us want to get our things done and have our own priorities and we think that our work is urgent and important. Well, whats wrong in that ?? Its in fact correct to do right things at right time and all of us have freedom and liberty to do that. Then, whats is that I am going to write now? In fact its very simple. All that i want to emphasize is how to do what we do.

I do agree that we are all busy with our own work and all of us have only 24 hours a day. But we all should think- 'am I the only person with all these responsibilities?' or 'can I or to be specific, should I do my work at the cost of somebody's work or time?' the answer is very straight, its NO, I cant take anybody's time or I can't disrupt anyone's work. The unfortunate situation has been created in this world where we have become too selfish or to say too busy with our work that we rarely think about others. We are just not patient enough to do this. The cascading effect of this impatience has led to a series of problems.

I live in Bangalore, the IT capital of India and I get nightmares when I think of traffic in this city. After all 1/6th of state's population resides in Bangalore (close to 1 Crore) and the population density is more than 5k/sq Km in many areas!! How can we expect people to have safe journey in this situation? Its difficult but this situation still worsens when 'We, the people' act like animals. As long as motorists don't hesitate to ride on footpath or in one way, to wear a helmet, cross lanes without indicating, take three persons on the motorcycles, over speed, jump signals, ride or drive carelessly, cut across precariously and do everything they can just to avoid a signal or reach their place as early as possible, we can't expect a safe travel. The traffic density has increased exponentially and number of accidents are also growing. So, why don't we have some patience? Why cant we leave ten minutes early and ride/drive normally? This is very simple, right? We don't have the right to take anybody's time or life.

This is just an example, having patience can solve hundreds of problems and can avoid thousands which are heading our way. Be it reacting to your parents, children, spouse, friends or boss, if we just think and react we will become better persons. This is what Stephen Covey says in his 90/10 principle. He says on 10% of things happening in our life we don't have any control. The remaining 90% depends on how we react to this 10% of things. Isn't it simple? React in simple way to complex situation. many a times complex problems have simple solutions!!!

Adopt and follow this powerful habit and make your life happier....

Expertize matters a lot

Each incident in our life teaches us something new and useful. Yesterday I went to drink tender coconut and I found that the person selling it selected a very small one from old stock category. I told him that it was not a good selection and showed him a fresh looking one. He argued back telling that its not good and all are fresh and continued with his story. I could not argue back as I was not sure with my selection. Later he chopped the one which he had selected and though it had less water in it, it tasted good. I later wondered why i didn't go with my selection!! Generally I won't let things go so easily but I was not sure and confident about my selection, so I had to compromise with what he chose. Once I thought of going with my selection later thought why to take risk. At the end it was a satisfying drink and it taught me a lesson too. I realized, Expertize matters a lot!!!

We come across many such incidents daily but many a times we don't think much about that. Be it work place, house, sports or any field for that matter, unless we know in and out of a thing we cant justify our choice. We will be lacking self confidence which is very vital to face any situation and defend ourselves. So, Its very important for us to know our strengths and work on it to still fortify it, meanwhile we should also recognize the weak link and try to strengthen it. However achieving expertize in everything is impossible, but we can be experts in our domain with careful and dedicated work. Swami Vivekananda has rightly said that-'Strength is Life and Weakness is Death'. In order to sustain in this competitive world we should  build our personality in such a way that we will be knowing what we are exactly doing.

Always remember, we have lot of things to learn from our day to day interactions and experiences, provided we have that sensitivity to grasp and zeal to learn....

Love...

What is LOVE? Most of us spend a major portion of our life in finding the answer to this question. Many of do find answer to this question, but very few realize that they have found the answer.
According to me love is as pure as holy water, to compare we can say as pure as river Ganga, its as precious as ones life. I believe there is nothing like true love and false love, Its just 'love or no love', but no love doesn't mean hatred. It just means there is no love. We should understand the difference between these two as many misunderstandings and quarrels happen just because we fail to make out the difference between these two.

So, What is Love? Its something that you cant express in words, its a feeling that makes you feel secure and happy. The moment I remember few people who are very important in life and who have very special place in my life I experience the feeling of love. For me the person whom I love looks more and more beautiful day after day, its a never ending beauty which reckons my heart every moment. It is just like how parents feel for their children. No matter how old we grow, we are small kids to them. they just love us the same way as they did when we were born. Love is one thing that spreads and increases on sharing. Love is one thing which can win toughest hearts and love is one thing that keeps you happy. We can wipe all the miseries in this world just by loving each other. Let there be no place for hatred. Gandhi's dream of 'Ramarajya' is also based on the same principle. Love each other, after all we are all human beings.

For human race to sustain and to establish peace in this world, only option we are left with is love each other and follow the principle live and let live...

Life is not to Regret..

This is one of the most beautiful lessons I have learnt in my life and all credit goes to my brother-in-law. We should do what we plan to do because who knows we may get another opportunity to do that again in our life!
Personally I have had lot of instances where I missed out doing something and later regret for that. But no use. No one in this world cares or even bothers to know why someone couldn't deliver or accomplish something. They are just concerned with the result.

So, Life is Not to regret.. when opportunity comes never turn back or be lazy, grab it and never worry about the end result, just give your best. At the end you will be satisfied that you tried it and there will be no room to regret later. Just do this and see the how satisfied you feel compared to earlier.

Always remember right things should be done at right time and in the right way !!
Good luck..
